Pat Smith TV Persona, Entrepreneur and President & CEO of Emmitt and Pat Smith Enterprises
Pat Smith, a native of Chesapeake, Virginia, resides in Dallas, Texas with her husband, Emmitt, and five children. She is a minister, author, speaker, entrepreneur,and philanthropist. She received a bachelor’s degree in journalism from James Madison University. She then went on to become the first African American woman to win the Miss Virginia USA title and, not long after, she placed first runner-up in the 1994 Miss USA Pageant.
She is co-founder of Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities, as well as founder and CEO of Pat Smith Enterprises and Treasure You. Treasure You is a non-profit organization that inspires women to pursue their second chance in life despite difficult circumstances and setbacks. In addition, she recently launched an online clothing boutique, PS by Pat Smith, and a portion of the proceeds support the emergency needs of women and girls.
Pat has always had an interest in television. Early in her television career, she had recurring roles and guest appearances on prime-time hits such as Beverly Hills 90210, Sunset Beach and The Wayans Brothers. Pat also conducted interviews on “A Night of Amazing Women” and “The Janeeé Show,” which were highly rated. Her hosting career began in Los Angeles on Extra and Access Hollywood, and then extended to Dallas when she hosted “Treasure You” on Good Morning Texas. She also co-hosted the TV Talk Show “The Broadcast,” which aired daily in Dallas on KTXD-TV, and was a featured guest host on The Talk on CBS. Additionally, Pat has been interviewed on various shows including the Dr. Phil Show, Steve Harvey Show, Access Hollywood, and Good Morning America. Recently, the Smith family’s special, entitled “Mrs. And Mr. Smith,” aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network and chronicled Pat’s journey. Her first book, “Second Chances,” was published by Bethany House and released on May 17, 2017.
Pat addresses various groups and demographics with her inspirational messages. For instance, she has been a featured speaker through the Women of Faith Tour, The Potter’s House in Dallas, and Lakewood Church in Houston.
